The construction of the new Fürth Hospital is creating one of the most modern hospitals in Bavaria. Few types of buildings place such diverse—and at the same time, such uncompromising—demands on doors as a hospital: Fire safety measures must allow for the evacuation of even patients who are unable to walk; hygiene and ventilation requirements demand airtight room seals; and the technical infrastructure—on which lives literally depend during hospital operations—needs reliable protection. Large-format fire protection elements
Hospitals need wide hallways and spacious passageways for beds, transport carts, and medical equipment. The larger a fire protection element is, the more complex its design must be, as fire protection must be guaranteed across the entire surface. BUCHELE supplied very large fire protection elements that securely enclose wide traffic routes without obstructing the transport of beds and supplies. Large-format elements, including XXL doors, are part of BUCHELE’s core business in Ebersbach.
Airtight doors
In sensitive hospital areas, controlled indoor air conditions are crucial—for example, to prevent the spread of germs or to maintain specific pressure differentials between rooms. BUCHELE’s airtight doors reliably and consistently meet ventilation design specifications—an often-overlooked but hygiene-critical detail in hospital construction.
Substation doors
The order was rounded out by transformer station doors for the building’s power supply. BUCHELE manufactures these in accordance with DIN EN 62271-202; standard features include, among other things, a grounding connection between the door leaf and the frame, as well as a separate connection option to the on-site grounding circuit. After all, a reliable power supply is simply vital in a hospital.
